At all our German ‘Dining & Lifestyle’ production sites, we use energy from completely renewable sources including, for example, photovoltaic systems.
Reducing plastics in our packaging
We are continuously reducing plastics in our packaging – while ensuring reliable breakage protection for our products. Over 50% of our products[0] are already protected with paper- and cardboard-based packaging solutions. We are systematically replacing conventional materials such as polystyrene (EPS) or plastic viewing windows with recyclable corrugated cardboard and form-stable paper padding.

At Villeroy & Boch, we design our products to be built to last. To ensure you can enjoy and cherish your Villeroy & Boch tableware for many years to come, our replacement service notifies you well in advance – up to 12 months before a range is discontinued. This gives you plenty of time to replace missing pieces or complete your set. This helps to conserve valuable resources, avoids unnecessary waste and makes a practical contribution to more responsible consumption.
Breakages guarantee
We are committed to products designed to last. Should any of your porcelain items from the Disney Frozen, Disney Stitch, Boho Kids or Kiddy Bears children’s tableware collections become damaged within two years of purchase, we will replace it free of charge. This ensures your set remains complete without you having to replace it entirely, and guarantees long-lasting enjoyment for you and your family. Minor mishaps are quickly forgotten – designed to last and easily resolved.

Our commitment for people and the environment
We take responsibility throughout the entire value chain of our products. To continuously reduce our CO₂ emissions, we are making targeted investments in modernising our production: this includes testing and gradually converting our firing processes to alternative energy sources such as green hydrogen and electricity. We also recycle glazes and ceramic raw materials directly back into the production cycle to minimise resource consumption.
As part of our transition to a circular economy, we are pursuing the ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ target at our production sites and actively reducing our greenhouse gas emissions as part of our SBTi-validated climate targets. At the same time, we are optimising the materials and weight of our packaging and are committed to fair working conditions, human rights, diversity and inclusion throughout the supply chain.
These measures form the core of our comprehensive sustainability strategy, through which we are making measurable contributions towards our long-term milestones of ‘Zero Losses’ and the decarbonisation of our company.
