Undercounter washbasins are recessed into the washbasin worktop. This is done in such a way that the top completely covers the edges of the basin. This means that only the wash basin and possibly the holes for the tap are visible. As a rule, however, the taps and mixer taps for this type of washbasin are fixed in the worktop or installed on the wall. The advantage of undermount washbasins is that they merge completely with the bathroom environment, there are no seams and the washbasin top can therefore be cleaned quickly. It is not without reason that undercounter washbasins are often the first choice in hotels and other places where there is a high turnover of people.
